Worth having if you several switches in the household or wider family. I share our sub with my nephews and my kids so they get value for money from it. Would be better if Nintendo did more than NES/SNES downloadable games in Virtual console you get free with this but a minor quip. The service offered is fine. It's good value that you can attach 5 accounts for less than a 50% price increase. Fundamentally I don't agree with paying to use online on any platform, but if you are someone that accepts it as the norm, the service is decent. Generally the performance has no faults. Marvellous
My youngest son loves playing on the original Mario's when I get my old nes out so he will be over the moon when he sees he can now play them on the switch. Plus there's loads of other nes/SNES games available for all the kids to play.

Work Fine
Redeem this and it worked fine for me. Just a note, when you redeem, it automatically sets up auto renewal so you would have to turn that off. I'm not sure if it;s the same for everyone or is it just me as I previously set up a payment method with Nintendo.

More a "Preview"
I have a large family due to being a foster carer and we have multiple Nintendo Switch accounts, I never knew about the Family Membership option as I'm new to Nintendo having been a Sony-boy, but browsing across this in your Shop will save me a LOT of money in a few weeks when the kids Online accounts start to run out of Membership!
